Erasmus+ GAYA

GayaPlus

The Erasmus+ project we are starting is called GAYA: Global Alternatives for Young Actors.

A partnership project, as we have applied for, should enable us to improve cooperation between partners, share ideas, exchange teaching and/or training practices or methods,

This name is a neologism because our project's ambition is to set our students in motion in terms of their concrete involvement in projects to protect our living environment from climate change.

5 partner schools in continental Europe + 1 school in French Polynesia.

Belgium: Collège de la Lys, Comines

France: Lycée René Couzinet, Challans

France: Taiarapu nui High School, Taravao (Polynesia)

Italy: IISS "Leonardo da Vinci", Civitanova Marche

Latvia: Valmeria State Gymniasium, Valmiera

Finland: Forssan yhteislyseo, Forssa

However, given the subject matter of the project, we imagined that each partner would partner with a school outside the EU.  The aim: exchanges and correspondence between students aged 15 to 18, joint reflection on possible solutions to counterbalance the harmful consequences of global warming.  The objective of this twinning will also be the reflection on a set of actions that could be implemented together (something concrete, achievable...).

The project will run for 2 years (beginning of November 2020) but given the sanitary conditions due to COVID, it could be extended by 6 or 12 months.

A distribution of themes has been devised to guide the students in their reflections:

C1: habitat: housing, town planning

C2: Transport: planning and transport

C3: Food: food and agriculture

C4: Working and Producing: Employment and Industry

C5: Consumption (lifestyles and consumption)

1st year: inventory of fixtures and basic notions

The creation of an "Erasmus Earth" structure, which aims to be a structure for reflection and action for a sustainable world and the fight against climate change. This structure will be representative of the voice of young citizens with the aim of fighting global warming and thus ensure the happiness and survival of future generations. Drafting of the statutes and objectives.  Reflection on the sustainability of the project.

Transmission of the reflections and action programmes of the partner schools to the authorities fighting against global warming.
